New and updated products offerings

DriSteem Evaporative High-Pressure System


DriSteem announces our fully redesigned High-Pressure System with enhanced evaporative cooling and humidification performance. The new system is designed and manufactured by DriSteem.

Features include accurate, responsive control with Vapor-logic; multiple zone capabilities; low-maintenance components; and complete water treatment options.

Key benefits of the system include:

  • Energy savings. Heat already present in the air is used to quickly evaporate the tiny, evenly-distributed water droplets dispersed by the system, saving on energy costs.

  • Reduced cooling load. The evaporative cooling effect reduces the building's cooling load, which provides significant energy savings in applications requiring both cooling and humidification.

  • Reduced water waste. The Vapor-logic controller monitors multiple conditions to modulate and control output of atomizing nozzles for optimal absorption and minimal water waste.

Market is growing
AHRI reports indicate that the market for evaporative cooling and humidification is growing. Unit sales have been increasing at a rate of 11 percent per year.

The High-Pressure System extends our reach into additional market segments with evaporative cooling applications. DriSteem has seen fantastic interest, with the number of unit quotes more than doubling over the last few months.

New Vapor-logic version 5 controller

In February, DriSteem began shipping humidifiers with the new Vapor-logic version 5 board. This new board is a drop-in replacement for the Vapor-logic version 4 board that we have been using for several years.
Vapor-logic version 5 offers a number of new features and provides customers with the same Vapor-logic control they know and trust.

The Vapor-logic version 5 board will make it easier for customers to reliably update the firmware in their installed systems as improvements and new capabilities are added to the Vapor-logic code.

ASHE (American Society for Healthcare Engineering) Conference

The 50th annual ASHE conference and technical exhibition will be held in Atlanta, Georgia July 21-24.

The conference is the trusted industry event for health care facility management professionals. There will be 40 peer-reviewed sessions and an expert line-up of industry presenters, including:

Data Center World
April 28 - May 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Data Center World is the premier international conference for data center and facilities managers. The conference is truly unique in its field as it draws upon the knowledge and experience of the more than 3,500 AFCOM members to create an end-user driven program that focuses on providing real solutions for today’s data center and facilities managers.

Cooling data centers requires a significant amount of energy – every kilowatt used to cool the building is energy that is not available for servers. DriSteem’s evaporative high-pressure system uses very little energy to disperse finely atomized water droplets into the supply air stream, making it an attractive option to refrigerant based cooling.

In addition to equipment manufacturers, many design/build contractors also exhibited at the show. They continue to see increasing demand for new data center construction. These data centers are getting bigger on average, being led by colocation facilities that lease server space. Colocation data centers are generally large and use air handlers – a great application for evaporative high-pressure systems.

DriSteem recently visited select Representative firms to discuss our updated Evaporative Cooling and Humidification system using high-pressure technology and major redesign of our Dri-Calc software. We visited 35 cities and 19 Representative firms, providing information on new features of our upcoming DriCalc release and emphasized valuable opportunities with our upgraded High-Pressure System.

The presentations were well-received. Many Representatives liked the fact that DriCalc will: 1) be an online application, 2) allow sharing of projects with specific users at different permission levels, 3) save time with copying and additional save points, and 4) offer more reports with additional information. Many people enthusiastically signed up to be beta testers to assist with the development. One participant commented, "This is a big jump in technology."

Representatives recognized the significant opportunity to sell our updated evaporative High-Pressure System in their territories. They understand that the overall market for this product is growing. Customers are requesting this technology now, and our offering provides Representatives with additional opportunities to pursue. Many were particularly pleased and excited to find out that our updated system is now built and supported completely in-house.

DriSteem stressed, and our Representatives agreed, that the success of our system will rely on collaboration and cooperation between them and DriSteem. Also, the sooner both DriSteem and the Representative are involved in an adiabatic opportunity, the better. As the experts in this technology, we can provide the proper education, application expertise and design support that customers need in order to properly select the right system for a project and avoid misapplications. As part of that effort, DriSteem is bringing to bear additional resources, tools, and manpower to support our Representatives — the roadshow being one of them. DriSteem has also provided additional sales tools such as the overnight expert (a quick sales primer), an updated catalog, and more.

AHR Expo 2013



The 65th annual AHR Expo was held in Dallas, TX on January 28-30. It established four all-time records for Southwest shows with more than 51,000 attendees and 1,951 exhibiting companies covering 397,000 square feet.

The show went really well. Once the floor opened Monday morning we were steady with traffic all day. A lot of wonderful comments on our brand refresh and new booth from Representatives, vendors, customers, corporate, and even competitors.

 

 

Chillventa


The Chillventa – International Trade Fair for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heat Pumps show was held in Nuremberg, Germany on October 9-11, 2012.

Thank you to our distributor, Alfred Kaut G.m.b.H & Co., who had a booth at the show, and displayed our XT Series humidifiers.
